«Un regard vers le Haut collectif

de la MRC du Haut-Saint-François»

On the occasion of the first edition of the « Regards vers le Haut » day, organized by the MRC and the Centre local de développement (CLD) in the fall of 2014, the 14 municipalities of the MRC were fortunate to express themselves on their vision about the long term needs of the region.

Here is the article published in Estrie Plus,

on October 8, 2014, by Jean-Claude Vézina :

Here is the coat of arms chosen for our municipality.

Newport has a vast, multi-faceted territory and to represent it well, the coat of arms is made up of many elements that make it unique.

We want to thank everyone who contributed to the design of our logo.

Notably, Ricky Parsons, Jeremy and Josh Martin and Rita Martin who won the competition launched in 1993.

Denis Palmer who drew some montages of the winning drawings.

And Normand Graillon who submitted the final drawing.

Newport is a large rural municipality in the Haut-St-François region in the Eastern Townships of Quebec,
